Is part of the measure of a man in his ability to soldier on indefinitely? To wear a pleasant face when situations are not pleasant? To ignore emotion when emotions beckon?
Is lacking stoicism a sign of weakness?

ReplyDeleteYes: I don't like the thought of giving up, and No: when things are crappy, though some situations call for a mask, for the rest, how can you keep pretending everything's peachy and not go crazy? And No and No: emotions sure make life unbelievably complicated but that's just how we all are, aren't we?
Having said that though, life sure would be... easier and simpler if I can ignore emotions.
